INFORMATION ABOUT MAIMAI

Undoubtedly one of the more popular rhythm games in the arcade, maimai
has definitely come a long way. In addition to competitive players, the
game is relatively simple to pick up for casual players. This is
because of the friendly user interface, as well as the friendly game
mechanics.

TYPES OF NOTES IN MAIMAI

In the original version, there are four types of notes -
TAP, HOLD, SLIDE and BREAK. However, in maimai DX,
there are two more types of notes added to the game:
TOUCH and TOUCH HOLD.

WHAT TO BRING IF YOU WANT TO PLAY

In this game, you will need gloves.
Many maimai players wear gloves when they are playing.
This is to reduce friction and enhance performance when playing.
Since this game is not free, you will need some cash.
On top of that, it is better if you play with friends.

MAIMAI DIFFICULTY LEVELS

There are six (6) difficulty levels in maimai -
EASY, BASIC, ADVANCED, EXPERT, MASTER and RE-MASTER.
EASY has the lowest difficulty while RE-MASTER
has the highest difficulty.
From maimai DX onwards, EASY difficulty is no longer available.
Until you are ready for more challenge,
play songs on BASIC difficulty.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF NOTES

A tap note is a pink circular note,
which only requires a single tap.
Being a red-yellowish circular note,
a BREAK note rewards many more points as compared to TAP notes.
One break note is almost equivalent to five (5) tap notes.
As BREAK notes make high scores, try not to miss them.
HOLD notes are pink hexagonal bars,
where players have to hold the note for the entire duration.
Until maimai FiNALE, players have to let go of the HOLD note
when the time comes to let go of it.
